Auction Sites Ratings and Reviews

Our Top 5 Auction Sites are selected by using the results of a public opinion survey and the poll in our forum taken in May and June of 2009 and site reviews from our site and other sites.

In most instances, , the public opinion survey was identical to the ratings below. In the past, we made eBay the number 1 site because it is the largest. In this rating, we are rating eBay where it placed on our surveys. We are also not going to include Craigs List because it is not really an auction site.

The reviews are a composite of our examination of various auction site forums and email that we have received containing opinions about auction sites.

We have just added a Forum Section so that you can post your reviews, opinions, and suggestions quickly. These post will be available to everyone so that the information is available at all times.

The Top 5 Auction Sites

Ecrater is rated number one

ecrater logo Ecrater is growing and is now the #1 rated auction site in our survey. It offers free membership, free listings, and free stores. It is easy to join, set up a store, and list your items. However, you do sacrifice the flexibility to use your own designs in your store and listings. It has some nice features and it is easy to use.

For more information, see the Ecrater review.

Bonanzle is rated number two

bonanzle logo Bonanzle has some nice feature including a live chat with the stores. It offers free membership, free listings, and free stores. It is easy to join, set up a store, and list your items. Once again, you do sacrifice the flexibility in designing your store and listings.

For more information, see the Bonanzle review.

eBay is rated number three

ebay logo

Although eBay was not the top auction site in our last few surveys, in the past, we have selected it the number one auction site because of its size. It is the largest and best known of all the auction sites. We believe that they were rated lower because of their fee increases which increase the costs to the Sellers and eBay stores. Some of these fee increase are probably passed to the buyers resulting in higher prices. However, we have decided to rate it according to our survey results starting now.

For more information, see the eBay review.

ebid is rated number four

eBid logo Ebid is a large auction site, but it is only rated number four. This may be due to the fact that you have to pay to upgrade your account to have a free store. However, it offers free membership, free listings, and stores for only $3.99 a month.

For more information, see the Ebid review.

uBid is rated number five

blujay logo blujay is new to our top 5. They have free membership, free listings, free stores, and no selling fees.

For more information, see the blujay review.
